Affiliate Disclosure
We believe in being completely upfront about how ClixWave makes money — and why it never affects what we recommend to you.
Commissions never affect scores
A tool’s affiliate commission rate has zero influence on its ClixWave rating.
All tools are tested first
We test every tool before joining its affiliate program — never the other way around.
Labelled on every page
Every page with affiliate links is clearly marked. You always know where we stand.
What Is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a way for websites to earn revenue by recommending products. When we include a link to a software product and you click that link and make a purchase, the company pays us a small commission — at no extra cost to you whatsoever.
Think of it like a referral fee. If you ask a friend which laptop to buy and they point you to a great one, you’d want their recommendation to be honest. That’s exactly how we approach affiliate marketing at ClixWave.
How Our Affiliate Links Work
Here is exactly what happens when you click an affiliate link on ClixWave:
You click a link
You click a “Visit site” or “Read review” button on ClixWave that links to a software tool.
A cookie is set
The company’s website places a tracking cookie on your device so they can identify the referral.
You decide freely
You explore the product completely independently. We have no influence on what happens on their site.
We earn a commission
If you subscribe or purchase within the cookie window, ClixWave earns a commission from the company.
You are never under any obligation to use our affiliate links. You can always visit a company’s website directly by typing the URL into your browser.
How Affiliate Relationships Affect Our Reviews — They Don’t
This is the most important part of this page. We want to be completely transparent about our editorial process.
Our scoring process is identical for every tool, regardless of whether we have an affiliate relationship with that company:
| Scoring criterion | Weighting | How it’s measured |
|---|---|---|
| Output quality | 30% | Assessed across 14 standardized writing/task tests |
| Ease of use | 20% | Time to first useful output, interface clarity, onboarding |
| Speed & reliability | 15% | Response time, uptime, and consistency over 2 weeks |
| Value for money | 20% | Price vs output quality vs available alternatives |
| Features & integrations | 10% | Depth of feature set and third-party integrations |
| Customer support | 5% | Response time, helpfulness, documentation quality |
Affiliate commission rates are not a scoring criterion. A tool that pays 50% commission gets the same honest assessment as a tool with no affiliate program at all. If anything, we hold highly commercialised tools to a higher standard of scrutiny.
What Happens When a Tool We’re Affiliated With Is Bad?
We say so. Clearly.
If a tool we’re affiliated with releases a poor update, increases its prices significantly, or simply isn’t performing as well as alternatives, we update the review to reflect that honestly — even if it costs us commissions.
We have declined affiliate partnerships with tools that didn’t meet our quality standards, and we have removed affiliate links from reviews where our honest score would contradict a recommendation. Our long-term credibility with readers is worth more to us than any individual commission.
Our Current Affiliate Partners
We participate in affiliate programs operated by the following types of companies. This list is updated as our partnerships change:
- AI writing tool companies — including tools for long-form content, copywriting, and content generation.
- SEO software providers — including keyword research, content optimisation, and rank-tracking tools.
- Automation platforms — including no-code workflow and integration tools.
- AI productivity tools — including AI assistants, chatbots, and business productivity software.
- Email marketing platforms — including AI-powered email tools and newsletter software.
We do not currently participate in affiliate programs for financial products, gambling, health products, or any category outside of software and digital tools.
How to Spot Affiliate Links on ClixWave
We label affiliate links clearly so you always know when you’re clicking one. Here’s how we identify them:
- A disclosure notice at the top of every review and comparison article that contains affiliate links.
- Buttons labelled “Visit site”, “Get started”, or similar that link directly to the tool’s website.
- This Affiliate Disclosure page is linked from the footer of every page on ClixWave.
If you’re ever unsure whether a link is an affiliate link, assume it is. We would rather be over-transparent than under-transparent with our readers.
FTC Compliance & Legal Requirements
ClixWave complies with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, which require websites to clearly disclose any material connection between a reviewer and the companies whose products they review.
Our affiliate commissions constitute a material connection and are disclosed in accordance with:
- The FTC’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.
- GDPR and ePrivacy requirements for users in the European Union.
- CASL requirements for users in Canada.
- ASA guidelines for users in the United Kingdom.
If you believe any content on ClixWave does not adequately disclose an affiliate relationship, please contact us immediately and we will review and address your concern.
